Carved relief in oak.
The carving shares many characteristics with the Elsloo Group.
In particular the symmetrical rolls of hair framing the Virgin’s face which fall over the shoulders.
In addition the slightly elongated face with high arching eyebrows and dimple to the chin can be seen in other works from this area.
