Mafra Palissy Majolica Lobster Plate

Object Description

Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a lobster and four shells, sitting on an extruded clay ground. Colouration: green, brown, pink, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Mafra pottery.

Object Condition

Good. Three chips to the reverse, which have been coloured in to blend in. RESTORATION. One leg has been remodelled.
