Object Description

A Very Good Quality George II Period Mahogany Bureau Bookcase, The Top Part With Two Shaped & Fielded Panel Doors Enclosing Fitted Interior Over Superbly Figured Fall, Two Short And Three Long Drawers, With Replacement Brass Handles, Raised On Original Shaped Bracket Feet.

Traditionally Bureau Bookcases have always been one of the most sought after pieces of antique furniture, as generally they offer elegance, versatility and function to just about any room in any house.

This particular piece is certainly no exception, its a good size without being overpoweringly large and boasts a remarkable amount of organised, flexible storage. Also the attractive and well figured door panels and fall mean that when closed nobody ever needs to know of the potential mess and clutter contained within.

It retains an exceptional untouched, rich colour and patina and also its original feet.

Although the brass handles are not the originals they are very much contemporary with the overall design of the piece and very similar to what it would originally have had.

Currently Bureau Bookcases really are quite exceptional value for money when balanced against the amount of function and elegance they provide to so many different areas in the home.
