Object Description
A small nickel-plated bedside lamp by the important French Modernist design studio Maison Desny, circa 1930.
The lamp has a half-sphere adjustable shade on an arched stem and a cylindrical base. The whole light is adjustable around the base so it can be positioned to face any direction. With Desny’s characteristic use of geometric shapes and metal surfaces, this model was displayed as an example of their work in a 1981 Parisian exhibition on design furniture from the year 1930.
