Majolica putti with grapes compote

Object Description

Majolica compote which features two putti holding grapes. Colouration: brown, cream, ochre, are predominant. Book reference not found.

Object Condition

Generally good. Some flakes to one putti’s body. Staining from use. RESTORATION: Top half of tree, compote and putti’s left arm and right leg reglued and joins retouched. Other putti’s right arm remodelled. Filled chips to fingers and toes. Three stabilised and retouched hairlines to the rim (one still slightly visible). Retouched flakes to rim and cup.
