Majolica Stag Head Wall Pocket

Object Description

Majolica wall pocket which features a young stag’s head. Colouration: brown, cream, grey, are predominant. A very high quality piece – although we cannot identify the maker, we suspect it was created by one of the top English/European factories (e.g: Hugo Lonitz, George Jones, etc).

Object Condition

Good. KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the left ear. RESTORATION. Left horn re-glued and join retouched. Filled chip to left ear. Stabilized and retouched crack to hanging hole.
