Object Description
Massive size 18th century George III Cuban mahogany tripod table. The huge 40″ diameter top is ONE piece of Cuban mahogany which is pretty amazing in itself.
The base is a great “chunky” design with nice shape turned column and lovely shape cabriole type legs with pad feet and original castors.
The colour and patination are un-touched and as such the whole piece is a gorgeous colour with waxed finish.
The original beech block has some old worm holes and damage and has at one time been screwed to the top, the bearers are oak, one of which is original, the other is an old replacement.
Basically this is a very nice piece of mid 18th century Georgian furniture made at a time when Cuban mahogany was still plentiful judging by the size of the ONE piece top.
