Object Description
Mauboussin Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set to centre with a rectangular step cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.91 carats, further set with thirty eight round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.76 carats, decorated further with eight rectangular baguette cut diamond in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.56 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.32 carats, to an impressive geometric design featuring intricate openwork with polished edges, a smooth gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to split linear shoulders and flowing through to a split openwork shank. Marked platinum and tested white gold, indistinct maker’s mark, numbered ‘3081’, French, circa 1929, accompanied by a Laboratoire Gemmologique de Paris report #20171973023-1.
This ring is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Mauboussin, stating that this ring is listed in their books under the number 93950, on December 6th 1929.
