Object Description
Mauboussin sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set with an oval old cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 5.50 carats, encircled by a single row of ten round old cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.20 carats, flanked by two rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.50 carats, to an attractive oval cluster with scalloped edges, an ornate openwork gallery and pierced backholing, the inwardly tapering raised shoulders flowing smoothly through to a solid D-shape shank with integrated spring fitting. Marked platinum, signed ‘MRE MAUBOUSSIN’, numbered ‘25566’, French, 1976, accompanied by Gubelin Gemmological report #20060097 and certificate of authenticity from Mauboussin.
