Object Description
Mauboussin sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 3.00 carats, flanked by six rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover channel settings with a combined weight of 1.00 carat, further adorned by twelve cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 2.00 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.00 carats, to a heavy double scrolling form with central collet set slightly raised, polished edges and intricate open backholing, the integrated tapering shoulders flowing smoothly down to a solid flat shank. Marked 18 carat white gold and platinum, maker’s mark for Mauboussin, French, circa 1947, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #07623 and Gubelin Gemmological report #20060101, further accompanied by copy of original receipt from Mauboussin Paris with detailed illustration and date 1947.
