Object Description

A fine Medieval angel mount with the front gilded in gold. The angel is presented facing forward, dressed in a long robe with incisions indicating the folds in the material. He holds a large candle adjacent to his left shoulder. A large wing is visible over his right shoulder. Vertical incisions are used to mimic feathers. A small protrusion extends out from the reverse used for mounting. This piece has been mounted on a custom-made stand.

The mount itself measures; 2.2cm high, 1.7cm wide, 15.4g.

Object Condition

Very fine condition, some of the gilding has worn away, including the face, consistent with age. Patination visible to the surface.
