Object Description
Emerald and diamond ring by Mellerio. Set with a central rectangular emerald-cut natural Muzo emerald with no colour enhancement in an open back yellow gold four claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.00 carats, flanked by forty four round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 1.50 carats, all encircled by twenty eight rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back half rubover settings with a combined weight of 1.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.00 carats, to a cluster of swirling form with cheniers to the openwork gallery, pierced backholing and leading through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, numbered 792B, signed ‘MELLERIO’, French, circa 1960.
