A mid-20th century pair of silver champagne coolers in a hand embossed crocodile skin by maker Paolo Scavia, Valenza, Italy, circa 1945-1950
A great design and beautifully made pair of coolers for champagne or wine. ? The stylised cast silver engraved handles are in the form of serpents which really adds a striking distinction to the overall look.
Paolo Scavia was a master silversmith and these coolers are a great example of the superb quality handmade pieces that he produced.? They are both stamped on the base with makers marks & silver mark 800.
Each cooler measures 29 cm tall & 32 cm wide.
