Minton Majolica Faun and Acorn Jardiniere

Object Description

Minton Majolica jardinière which features fauns and lion head masks. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, pink, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, ‘1018’. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

Object Condition

Good. No restoration. Tight hairline to lower body of jardinière. Small chip to lower foot rim. Slight wear to the interior. KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the brown borders.
