Minton Majolica Tower Jug/Pitcher with Pewter Lid

Object Description

Minton Majolica jug/pitcher with lid which features dancing medieval figures and a jester finial. Colouration: green, grey, ochre, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, ‘1231’. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1869.

Object Condition

Very good. No restoration. Small flake to thumb piece. Pewter lid does not sit exactly flush with the jug on one side.
