Monumental Sized Staffordshire Hen on Nest Tureen

Object Description

Staffordshire Pottery egg tureen and cover which features a hen sitting with her eggs, resting on a basketweave oval base. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Maker’s marks painted to the underside. Very large size.

Object Condition

Hen: Generally good. Some paint losses to the ground around the rim. RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses. Nest: Generally good. Some wear to exterior. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched star crack to interior. Other restorations.
