Object Description
Circa 1880, a very stylish French style cabinet probably by ‘Morrison and Co of Edinburgh’, the top with pink variegated mottled marble, with elegant moulded for edge, open section in the center, with a removable shelf there’s two shaped drawers with Birmingham locks, elegant ormolu escutcheons and rococo handles, beneath these there are two serpentine doors which are glazed as are the gables, with three adjustable shelves, beneath the open section, in the center there’s two tambour doors, typical of Morrison and Co, a shaped and curved frieze with foliate carving in the center, and the whole piece stands on four elegant squat cabriole legs which are smothered with ormolu cast sabots.
