Napoleon III Period Neoclassical Style Three-Piece Clock Set

Comprised of a mantel clock and two flanking candelabra, this fine French clock set is beautifully crafted from ormolu and a later malachite veneer.
The central clock features a striking blue champlevé enamel dial, which stands out against the deep green malachite case. The case itself has waisted sides and sits on a shaped base, with six ormolu feet and an ormolu plateau. This gilt bronze moulding borders the shaped malachite clock case, and scrolls into decorative brackets either side, surmounted by female busts. At the very top, the clock features an urn-shaped finial with further ormolu detailing, including floral garlands.
The pair of flanking candelabra are designed in a conforming style, with similar ormolu scrolled detailing and malachite body. Each features seven scrolled light branches: six on a lower level and one as a finial at the top.
