Object Description
Natural Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring. An important piece, set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural no heat Ceylon sapphire in an open back four claw setting with an approximate weight of 20.13 carats, flanked by two kite shape mixed cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.10 carats, to a structured openwork gallery conforming to the finger with intricate backholing and elegant gently sloping inward tapered shoulders, flowing down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1950, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5775-1682 and SSEF report #146641.
Unenhanced sapphires are scarce and this is an extremely rare example of a large natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire.
