Object Description

An alabaster mace-head in a tubular form with twenty-one faceted phalanges in three rows around the centre.

It is thought that such items may have been mounted on a shaft as a symbol of rank, perhaps derivative from a true weapon of similar form.

Period: Circa 1000-800 BC

Provenance: Ex major London collection collected by S.M. 1970-2010

Condition: Very fine condition. Mounted on a custom made stand.
