Object Description

A Very Good Quality Regency Nest Of Three Padouk Wood Coffee Tables Having Extremely Well Figured Cockbeaded Tops Raised On Elegant Turned Upright Supports With Attractive Scrolling Feet

Dating to the late regency period this nest of three coffee tables really are incredibly beautiful and elegant.

They have well figured tops constructed from exceptional padouk wood veneers. Padouk wood is indigenous to both the East and West Indies and was imported to the UK in varying amounts at various times throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Hugely expensive due to the demand for it because of its highly decorative properties and rich colour there was not a large amount of furniture constructed using it,  its use was often restricted to small, decorative bandings and inlays on items of furniture veneered in a different wood.

These tables are in good, solid, functional condition, with very little restoration or existing damage to speak of. Perfect for a whole variety of spaces around the home they will add a touch of elegance, class and function to absolutely any room around the home.
