Object Description
Old mine diamond carved solitaire ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond, L colour, VS1 clarity with an approximate weight of 2.48 carats in an open back rubover claw setting, to an ornate solitaire design featuring polished edges, an intricately carved solid gallery and circular open backholing, flanked by broad integrated shoulders featuring carved scrolling motif decoration which terminates before flowing through to a solid D shaped shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, makers mark ‘FD’, French, circa 1890, accompanied by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) report #6214254434.
