Object Description
A finely cast Ordos bronze pendent plaque depicting a stylised lion. The animal is presented in a standing stance, with its stretched limbs evenly spaced to balance its body weight. Its head is slightly lowered, echoing its arched, raised tail. Its facial features are clearly cast, including an almond-shaped eye, a circular nostril and a gaping mouth, in which its teeth are meticulously sculpted. Two loops are internally cast on top of its nose and below its tail, suggesting it might have been strung with fabric.
