Object Description
An original antique Georgian pine fire surround dating from the late 18th century. Though this fireplace is more than 240 years old, its quality and craftsmanship has stood the test of time, making an elegant surround in a 21st century property. It is simply designed other than the added elegance of the ornate frieze, which is decoratively carved with a wreath to the centre among floral and foliage swags, below a row of dentils beneath the shelf above.
