Object Description
Circa 1920s. A stylish oak framed Orkney chair probably by ‘David Kirkness of Kirkwall’. Of typical form with a barrel shaped oat straw back, capped with marram grass, supported on simple uprights, with a drop in marram grass seat, the stylish arms with curled ends typical of ‘David Kirkness’, with a simple frieze, the chair stands on four square legs with the back ones slightly out swept with conforming stretchers.
