In the Louis XV style, this elegant antique clock and barometer set by the French maker Gleizes, based in Paris in the 19th Century, showcases a beautiful combination of gilt-bronze (ormolu) and precious tortoiseshell inlay. The central enamel dials, signed ‘Gleizes / 3 Place Vendome a Paris,’ comprise the clock, with Roman numerals, and the barometer with a spiralling mercury reserve below, while further measuring instruments for temperature etc, line the lengths.
