Beautiful crafted from an array of precious, richly veneered woods and mounted with elegant ormolu mounts, this excellent dressing table was crafted in late nineteenth century France, in the Louis XVI, Neoclassical style. The hinged breakfast top reveals a bevelled plate, and an interior featuring a pair of leather-lined winged trays, and an elaborate array of internal compartments, all finely worked and interconnected.
The glazed lid to the top houses a trio of wells, variously shaped divisions, and a drawer with a plaquette. It is set on square tapered legs, typical of the style, which are mounted with brass caps. It makes for a beautiful homely addition, especially for those with a penchant for antique style, sophistication, and class.
