Object Description

Pair of Georgian Antique Silkwork Embroideries, Justice and Prudence. Titled to the bottom. Framed in original gilded frames, with rippled, old glass. Tacked to wood stretcher frames with card and brown paper backing. The embroideries are worked in silk on a silk ground. Colours blues, cream, gold, silver, pink, red and white. The pictures depict ‘Justice’ and ‘Prudence’. Hand painted details to both pictures.

Object Condition

Good. No holes. No stains. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. Neatly and evenly stretched. Mounts and frames showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
