A Rare Pair Of Exceptionally Good Quality Mid 19th Century, French Napoleon III Period, Mahogany Bedside Tables, Having Wonderfully Figured Panelled Square Tops, Over One Drawer And Cupboard Door, With Elegant Brass Mounted Decoration Throughout, Raised On Reverse Tapered Turned Legs With Fluted Decoration.
Pairs of bedside tables are generally one of the most looked for and sought after pieces of antique furniture. They can of course be found in a very wide ranging selection of shapes, sizes, qualities and designs. Their appeal is obvious, we require bedside tables just as much in 21st century England as they did back in 19th century France!
These are really quite lovely, sturdy and practical, also quite exceptional quality having been constructedd using high grade mahogany timbers. They also have attractive brass mounted decoration which is typical of furniture produced in the better late 19th century French cabinet making workshops.
Overall the condition is very, very good with just a few old marks, scuffs and scrapes which are now polished int0 the surface. The bedside cupboards have received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale and also an inspection by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers to ensure that they are in their best possible condition before being placed on sale.
