Object Literature

These tables are based upon an exquisite Louis XVI table de dame produced by the renowned cabinet maker, Adam Weisweiler (1744-1820), and supplied to Marie Antoinette in 1774 for installation in her cabinet interieur at Chateau de Saint-Cloud. Throughout the last quarter of the 19th century numerous renowned cabinet makers working in France produced an impressive range of variants of this celebrated Weisweiler model. However the most notably exceptional examples were executed by Emmanuel Alfred Beurdeley, Henri Dasson, Francois Linke and Joseph Emmanuel Zwiener.
