A Very Good Quality And Rare Pair Of Late 19th Century Walnut Luggage Stands, Or Luggage Racks, Having Rectangular Slatted Tops Over Turned Tapering Supports With Elegant Carved Decoration United By Chamfered Square Stretchers.
Luggage stands of varying shapes and sizes have been popular almost since time began, well certainly since cases and trunks were invented anyway and its obvious why.
It is rare to find antique pairs of these, indeed they are pretty sought after, and that is exactly what these are. They are also constructed from good quality walnut timber and very well put together in a cabinet making and quality sense.
They remain in good condition, retaining a good worn surface as one would expect for practical items of furniture of this age and they are very much sturdy, plus fit for original purpose. Certainly there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that these could not be purchased and placed straight into a bedroom with the intention of them regularly bearing the load of various types of luggage.
As with all the items which we offer for sale, this pair of victorian luggage stands has been attended to in the traditional manner at our workshops before being offered for sale, by our highly trained and skilled antique furniture restorers including a light clean and natural wax polish to ensure that they are in good retail condition and ready to be placed immediately into the home.
