Object Description
A pair of large and very heavy quality sterling silver George IV wine coasters; these wonderful coasters are in the rococo taste with heavily embossed floral borders.
These magnificent coasters have a band of stylised acanthus decoration around the lower part of the body.
The silver central button is engraved with initials.
The coasters are in excellent condition with the original oak bases . To give an idea of weight , they weigh over 1 Kg , approx 33 troy oz the pair ; obviously one can’t take the wood out but it gives one an idea of the gauge and quality.
