Object Description

A pair antique stained glass panels of medieval soldiers. Dating to circa 1800, these stained glass panels have stood the test of time; each one showcases precision, detail and good quality craftsmanship.

One solider sits while the other stands, dressed from head to toe in armour and spears in hand.

The hoops allow the panels to be hung or mounted onto a wall or window as a decorative piece. This set are stunning features for a renaissance or ecclesiastical style property looking to keep period features.

Antique Stained Glass

Stained glass is made using a traditional method first recorded in the late 11th century. The process begins with creating a drawing of the design, first as a smaller scale version and then in full-size, known as a cartoon.

Next, solid pieces of coloured glass are cut before decorating textured glass with enamel paints and using lead or copper frames to hold the glass together. Due to their fragility, antique stained glass windows more than 100 years old are a brilliant find, offering a glimpse into styles and skills of times gone by.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. All panels are housed within lead frames and hanging hoops to the top.
