Object Description

Pair of Art Deco Period Modernist Machine Age design Dress Clips.
Large Chromed metal balls with spring clip fittings to the back.
These clips are unmarked but I would suggest of German origin & dating from the 1930s.

Object History

This Pair of Dress Clips perfectly reflect the influence of Machine Age & Industrial design on the worlds of the Decorative Arts & Fashion during this period.
It can particularly be seen in the designs created by members of the U.A.M (Union Artistes Modernes) in Paris which included Jean Fouquet,Raymond Templier & Jean E Puiforcat.
