Pair of Dresden porcelain and gilt bronze vases

This fine pair of Dresden porcelain pot pourri vases features ornate gilt bronze mounts. The vases have krater-shaped, white-ground porcelain bodies painted with figurative vignettes and sprays of flowers. The rim of each vase features a pierced gilt bronze mount, above of which is the similarly decorated domed porcelain cover surmounted by a figurative finial. Each vase is raised on a pierced socle, and each features two gilt bronze lion’s head handles to the sides. The undersides are marked for Dresden.
