Object Description
Very fine pair of early nineteenth century George III period mahogany antique console serving tables. This very rare pair of elegant side tables were made for a large room and they were designed to impress. They are typical of the late George III period of furnishing as pioneered by the likes of Robert Adam which was popular among the ruling and landed classes of the period. This meant that they are designed along classical lines with perfect proportions and classical motifs. This pair of tables have wonderfully shaped back panels, exquisite reeded detail and stand on elegant square tapering legs with spade feet. The timber is a very fine cut of mahogany which has faded to a very nice golden brown.
