Object Description
A pair of fine quality early 19th century (circa 1820) French ormolu (gilt bronze) winged cherubs supported on faux marble bases.
This pair of highly decorative cherubs each with curled hair and delicate wings and partly covered with flowing drapery for modesty.
The cherubs are both seated on faux marble bases with a moulding below.
The cherub is a symbol of innocence and purity as well as being a symbol for love.
This pair of cherubs possibly originate from an important piece of French furniture.
This pair of cherubs are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home – these would make a great additional to a mantelpiece or desk.
