Object Description
A pair of fine quality early 20th century (circa 1910) Meiji Japanese bronzes of a peasant man and woman.
This pair of bronzes depict a peasant man and woman, the elderly man wearing simple traditional dress and holding a bottle, supported on a small round base.
The peasant woman is depicted wearing traditional dress, reading a book whilst she is walking having collected sticks for the fire, these being carried on her back, supported on a circular base.
This pair of bronzes are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
