Object Description
A pair of fine quality mid 19th century (circa 1870) French Régence style bronze and gilt bronze three branch candelabra, these being very versatile as they can also be altered into a pair of single candlesticks.
The candelabra each consist of a bronze candleholder with gilt bronze flambeau snuffer to the centre surrounded by three further bronze candleholders with scrolling branches all with foliate decoration, all having egg and dart gilt bronze drip pans, gilt bronze collar and reeded and foliate column.
This leads down to gilt bronze collar of scallop shell design with gilt bronze draped acanthus collar below, each of the candelabra having finely cast tri-form tapered columns with foliate design and acanthus decoration below.
The candelabra are supported on decorative bronze and gilt bronze tri-form bases with draped anthemion decoration terminating on stylised bronze paw feet with a moulded tri-form plinth below.
The candelabra can be altered into a pair of single candlesticks if required, this making them extremely versatile.
This pair of candelabra are in very good condition for age and can go straight into a home.
