Object Description
Circa 1870. Pair of Flemish carved oak hall or throne chairs. The impressive backs surmounted by two carved griffins between a coat of arms, more centrally an upholstered pad with close brass studding flanked by open foliate carvings and barley twist supports. The partially upholstered arms with lion head fronts on barley twist supports above large overstuffed seats. Supported on square legs with barley twist stretchers over brass and brown porcelain castors.
