This pair of commodes consist of serpentine shaped and moulded faux marble tops finished in a blue vein painted marble effect.

Each commode having two drawers with central Kingwood and tulipwood floral marquetry oval panel of a vase of flowers surrounded by ebony and boxwood stringing with parquetry trellis decoration with ebony and boxwood geometric stringing with an outer tulip crossbanding.

The drawers each with gilt metal Rococo style handles, escutcheon to the top drawer, foliate central mount to the lower drawer with shaped apron below of tulip crossbanding.

The corners having gilt metal Rococo style mounts to the top with further mounts running down the legs terminating with a mount to the front feet.

The tops are made from wood and finished in a blue vein marbled paint effect, this pair of commodes previously owned by an English film hire company, these companies preferring to use wooden tops as the marble ones could easily be damaged.
