Pair of French mahogany and ormolu bedside cabinets

Designed in the Louis XVI style, these bedside cabinets are superbly crafted out of an array of materials.
A richly veined grey and white marble tops, set in an ormolu frame sit atop a mahogany body and a writing panel is revealed with a pull of the elegant ormolu handle. The front of the drawers is adorned with floral ormolu mounts and is set above a marble inlaid storage compartment. The square shaped drop-down panel is decorated with a geometric parquetry pattern, framed by an ormolu chain of beads.
A mahogany shelf, framed with a pierced ormolu gallery decorates the lower part of both furniture pieces. Each cabinet stands on four fluted and reeded legs terminating in ormolu feet.
The multifunctional design of each cabinet makes this pair a superb addition to a smaller interior space.
