Object Description
Circa 1900, exhibition quality pair of George I style walnut dining chairs. The high back chairs have a shaped vase back with carved c-scrolls and foliate motifs to the top. There are two upholstered panels with a central splat which has oyster veneer inlay and banding. The drop-in seat, upholstered in red silk velvet above a shaped apron with a carved shell. The back legs are outswept and finish on a pad foot, and the front cabriole legs finish on a ball and claw foot, with carved, shaped stretchers beneath.
