Object Description

An impressive pair of George III silver entree dishes.
The dishes are marked with their respective numbers by means of dots with one dish base, cover and handle No. 3 and the other No. 4, indicating they were probably a set of four originally.
They are well hallmarked on the bases, covers and the detachable handles and are finely engraved to the lids of one side with a contemporary family crest.
They are in excellent condition.
The oblong dishes are of an unusually heavy gauge (144 troy oz) and have an unusual rope twist style border.
Dimensions: length 28.25 cm, width 22.5 cm; weight 144 troy oz.
