Object Description
Circa 1790, closely matched pair of generous-sized George III mahogany tray top commodes. With a wrap-around gallery with carrying handles, the front frieze features ebony inlay and a faux lock over a sliding tambour front. This has unusual wavy mouldings to sides, and opens to reveal a cupboard. The base has now been converted to a drawer, with ebony inlaid front, brass loop handle and a shaped skirt which is supported on split rectangular supports when open.
