Pair of Georgian mahogany knife/ cutlery boxes.

Object Description

A pair of 18th century serpentine fronted mahogany knife or cutlery boxes. The sloping lids with inlaid oval panels above shaped fronts with boxwood and ebony stringing. The tops open to reveal an inlaid sycamore and ebony star on the underside with boxwood and ebony strung decoration round the inner frame. The boxes retain all their original fittings and have keys. English Circa 1790.
