A pair of highly decorative early 20th century Italian hand painted console tables with specimen marble tops.
This pair of tables consist of highly decorative specimen marble tops with various inlaid stones and marbles to create a lattice design.
The table tops are supported on superbly painted table bases, these finished in a pale muted green tone with evidence of silver leaf, each having a superb copper panel to the centre of the frieze both depicting Classical scenes.
The frieze to the front and sides having a design of Vitruvian scrolls, also with a painted finish, having a worn appearance with traces of silver leaf that has worn over the years.
The tables are supported on bold and tapered legs, also painted and with traces of silver leaf, the legs having recessed panels with turned applied mouldings and terminating with turned feet.
It is rare to find tables such as these on the open market and particularly rare to find a pair, these would be a wonderful addition to any home as statement pieces.
This pair of tables are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
