Object Description
This pair of large Chinese papier-mâché vases feature a brown ground and extensive mother of pearl inlays, the inlaid pieces arranged to create, on each vase, a depiction of a bird taking flight amid hints of wind and foliage. Each vase stands on its own five-leg base, each base inlaid with a band of mother of pearl along its top in a manner the complements the vase it holds.
