Object Description
A decorative pair of early 18th century style walnut armchairs in superb gros and petit-point needlework
England, 19th century.
Why we like them
Wonderfully sculptural with their shapely ‘shepherd’s crook’ armrests and well-drawn cabriole legs, these chairs are most likely copies of a great period example, finely made of English walnut in the 19th century. Upholstered in superb quality needlework of lovely warm colours, in keeping with the period.
