An interesting pair of lifesize Roman style composition stone horse heads, beautifully weathered by exposure to the elements over many years.
Well-sculpted, the maker has captured the essence of each horse through their characteristic detail. You don’t need to see their bodies to envisage how these horses would have looked, steeped in majesty and prestige.
Each horse has an adornment atop their head suggestive of a regal embellishment, further enhancing their air of grandeur.
Together, they will make handsome ornaments for a garden, usable as statuary or finials. Alternatively, they could be used indoors as part of an interior scheme.

Good structural condition. Weathered. Small chips and losses. One slightly more weathered than the other. One has had a historic repair across the snout.
